At 4 pm, C\u00e9line Mathieu will be reading ‘This house is very’, a recent text that she wrote for her upcoming exhibition at PLUS-ONE Gallery, Antwerp (June 2023). This will be followed by an informal talk on her broader research ‘Conditions for Raw Materials’ and the collaborative project ‘The Carriers, A Lineage of Fiction’ with Wim De Pauw,\u00a0Antoinette Jattiot and\u00a0Fabiola Burgos.<\/p>\n
Wim De Pauw starts a month\u2019s of residency, where he is walking from Fondation CAB Brussels to Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-de-Vence and document his journey as he walks, listens and writes.<\/strong><\/p>\n On the 13th of April 2023 there was a discussion in Turin between Antoinette Jattiot (b. 1989 France) and myself. We wondered about walking the margin between two (art) centers, physically connecting the two dots on the map.<\/p>\n On the 22nd of April 2023 there was a conversation in the exhibition Worldlines between Fabiola Burgos Labra (b. 1989 Chili) and me. Fabiola pressed a casted bronze blackberry between her hand and mine, while telling the story of how the fruit was imported to create \u201cnatural\u201d barriers in her motherland Chile. When our hands parted, it left a small impression of the fruit as a trace of herstory. Ways to Return Home, the title of the piece, will be brought along the walk.<\/p>\n On the 24th of April 2023 there was a phone call between Celine Matthieu (b. 1989 Belgium) and myself. I proposed her to inhabit the studio of Fondation CAB in Brussels and to become one of the carriers of the project.<\/p>\n On the 22nd of May 2023 I offered a handmade notebook to Antoinette Jattiot that will be used to speculate (the absence of) a journey through writing<\/p>\n On the 1st of June 2023 I embarked on a month-long d\u00e9rive, exchanging fictions by walking, waiting and writing our way from Brussels to Saint-Paul-de-Vence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
