The CAB welcomes, for the second time, an exhibition initiated by Bank Degroof. In March 2013 the Centre had the pleasure of presenting Bank Degroof’s first initiated exhibition, « Contemporary Future ».
« Pionnières » brings together renowned female artists who have left their indelible mark on art history. These women are considered true pioneers. Their collective body of work has been brought together to create a dialogue that reaches beyond the male-dominated art history discourse of the past 100 years. Due to their extraordinary talent and vision, these women developed their own language and means of expression, which have led us to expand our sensitivity towards the intimate territories that they have captured in images and forms. These masterpieces from Belgian private collections are signed by the acclaimed female artists Lynda Benglis, Louise Bourgeois, Marlene Dumas, Tracey Emin, Roni Horn, Shirin Neshat, Cindy Sherman, Nancy Spero, Niki de Saint Phalle, and are assembled together for the first time in the « Pionnières » exhibition.
