Jean Prouvé
Fondation CAB in Saint-Paul and Laffanour | Galerie Downtown are dedicating an exhibition to Jean Prouvé, foregrounding his radical credo: to industrialize the act of building!
Conceived as a precise architectural sequence, the presentation brings together archival photographic prints (1930s–1970s), rare prefabricated elements — panels, brise-soleil, doors — and a distilled selection of seminal furniture, from the Cité bed to the Compas table and Standard chair.
Each work manifests Prouvé’s constructive exactitude and structural lyricism. Set within the 1950s modernist enclave of Fondation CAB, the exhibition reveals the consubstantial bond between architecture and furniture — where technique becomes form, and form attains permanence.
More than seventy years on, Jean Prouvé’s œuvre continues to recalibrate modernity.
