Fondation CAB is pleased to invite you to the open studio of Ute Müller (b. 1978, Graz, Austria), our 4th artist-in-residence in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The studio is open on Friday, February 17th 2023 from 3 pm to 6 pm. In the context of her residency, Ute Müller also proposes an exhibition The Far Side II, with Christoph Meier (b. 1980, Vienna, Austria).
Multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of the artist-zine editions Black Pages, Ute makes installations which are based on the interaction between the object and the space to renew the modalities of presentation and perception of the artwork.
The Far Side II – including new works produced in St Paul de Vence – is the second installment of a body of works first shown at Komagome SOKO in Tokyo in 2022 with the artist Christoph Meier with whom she regularly collaborates. Their practices can be defined as conceptual yet material, procedural and interdisciplinary, always as a platform that takes on a spatial dimension. Each image, each object, with which these two practices can be associated, always thinks along the social spaces in which they are shown or which they generate.
