To celebrate its 45th Birthday the gallery Baronian presents Shaping Light at Fondation CAB, a group exhibition that explores the potential of neon as an artistic medium. Shaping Light illustrates the different ways in which the participating artists use neon to shape light.
The selection of works presented in the exhibition doesn’t claim to be exhaustive, but rather stems from subjective motivations. Various artistic expressions with neon are covered, bringing historical pieces into dialogue with contemporary practices deploying this material.
Originally introduced as a material for billboards, the luminous tubes are currently omnipresent in our daily lives. Shaping Light brings together art that approaches neon in conceptual, linguistic, spatial, abstract and even figurative ways.
